Poetry/Prose

My Regards

Give my regards

To the jumpsuited man

The one with the beard

Who sweeps up the sand

Give my regards

To the whisps in rags

Brothers who scramble

For food

Not for tag

Give my regards

To that little one

Who sits in your heart

Who used to have fun

Give my regards

To the bird in the tree

Fluffed up in the cold

And pining for seeds

Give my regards

To those who strive

Who know what it means

To be alive

Give my regards

But never from me

Instead of the credit

I’d like to stay free
